A.M. Best -- A+ (Superior) -- 2nd highest of 13 active company ratings 1

"A superior ability to meet their ongoing obligations to policyholders"

Standard & Poor's -- AA (Very Strong) -- 3rd highest of 20 active company ratings 2

"Very strong financial security characteristics, differing only slightly from those rated higher"

They are based on comprehensive quantitative and qualitative evaluations of the company and its management strategy. A.M Best's Rating: A+ (Superior)

Effective August 5, 2004, American National Property and Casualty Company has received an A+ (Superior) Rating. This increase in rating applies to our entire group of companies.

To put this rating into perspective, only 53.1% of the property and casualty insurance groups in the United States have received a letter rating. Of the 53.1% that have received a letter rating, 12.3% have a rating of A++ or A+, 22.3% have an A rating and 65.4% have a rating below an A. This places us among the best companies in our industry.
